Specialty or Treatment courts, including Adult and Juvenile Drug Courts, DUI Courts, Mental Health Courts, Domestic Violence Courts, and Community Courts, face a myriad of operational and administrative requirements.
Monitor Specialty Courts is specifically designed by criminal justice professionals to meet the data collection, case management, program administration, and evaluation needs of the many individuals and agencies involved in Specialty Court operations. Monitor Specialty Courts improves decision making at each step of the process.
Monitor provides jurisdictions maximum flexibility by allowing different programs (e.g. an adult drug court, juvenile drug court, probation department, mental health court, and domestic violence court) to use the software simultaneously. Monitor keeps caseloads and statistics separate while providing the same high degree of efficiency to all users. This built-in functionality allows you to expand the reach and benefits of Monitor at no additional cost. A scalable solution, Monitor can administer a single specialty/treatment court or the programs of an entire state.
Monitor Specialty Courts is built on the principle of team collaborative and provides all members of the Treatment Court Team, including judges, case managers, attorneys, mental health clinicians, drug assessors, treatment providers, and others, instant access to client and program data. Users have real time access to permissible information. Judges, for example, can review a participant's case file at any time; communication and accountability are maximized. Access to confidential information (such as clinical assessments) is controlled by the Monitor security model.
In a Treatment Court, case managers must keep track of a client's appointments, court dates, drug tests, treatment conditions, payment records, and other program requirements. Monitor meets these needs by allowing case managers to function efficiently as they administer their caseloads by offering one-click access to client records to maximize accuracy and consistency. Specially designed management screens allow case managers to track their cases and key dates; system generated alerts warn case managers of missed requirements and negative conditions. Monitor supports specific specialty court functions, including sanctions and rewards, phases and conditions, and staffing meetings.
Treatment Courts, because they are by nature a collaborative effort of many different agencies, are especially difficult to Monitor. Monitor keeps program administrators informed with instant on-line statistics of program operation and access to a wide variety of management reports. Supervisors and administrators are able to access and Monitor staff and client performance, thereby detecting problems immediately and facilitating staff training and peak performance.
One problem faced by many specialty courts is integrating information from treatment providers. Monitor offers data entry access by third party social service agencies, including, mental health, drug treatment, and batterer intervention programs. Treatment agencies can file progress reports, notes and enter drug test results directly into Monitor (based on security permissions) that can then be accessed by other team members.
Treatment providers and other third party users can also be provided access via the Monitor Third Party Application which allows providers to access client records only on persons referred to their agency, view select information (addresses, screening information, etc.) to which they have been given permission which eliminates redundant data collection, and to file data (e.g. test results, evaluation reports) in real time for access by agency team members.
"The staff at Loryx Systems really understands the background necessary to create a successful product for Drug Courts. Loryx Systems was able to meet the many needs of the Atlanta Community Court including additional reports, integration with a legacy system, and a module for community service vendors. Loryx Systems has an excellent technical staff to back their products and provide timely customer service."
